I received chopped cups, greasy flatware to the point I had refused to eat. When I decided to leave after 3 days, certain staff members tried getting me to stay, saying you have a sick heart and you’re to be here for 2 wks. Whenever I would ask what they were doing for my sick heart, I got no response. On the day I was to leave, I had adv admin that my ride was coming from a distance that was around 4pm. I was told of they were not there by 5 I would need to catch bus home I hadn’t even signed and discharge papers at this point. Unfortunately, I have a 108 year old great grandmother st this location.
They only have bingo, they go outside, they watch movies, and stuff like that. They have a garden that has benches; it’s a big circle. They have community rooms, but no chapel. They don’t do that, they just kind of leave them in their room all day. But they’re also there for rehab and they’re not very mobile. So I guess there’s a difference with the level of what they do with them.

There are may positives to Highland Park care. There are also some negatives about Highland Park Care Center. As in most places that care for the elderly, not all of the people are as honest as they may appear. There were problems with missing money and clothing mix-ups after their clothes are laundered. Other than theft of money and clothing mix-ups it is still a good care facility.
